“If you limit your choices…”

…only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want.  And all that is left is compromise.” – Robert FritzImage

Hello everyone!  I am sorry it has been a while since I posted last, life gets real busy sometimes… Anyways I’m back with a new idea.  I saw this quote the other day and it motivated me again.  I have been coming up with many ideas recently on how I can do something (outside of work if necessary) that makes me happy.  I am convinced this life is not just about an 8 to 5 job but it is so easy for all of us to get stuck in that mindset (I know work and life bogged me down with that mindset the last couple of months) but I am getting out of my rut.

A couple of things I would love to accomplish that just sound fun and motivating:

  • Write a children’s book called Valentine after my sweet stuffed animal – it could be the new Corduroy.  I loved that book when I was a kid but I think I could write the new Corduroy of this generation…
  • Start a website for creative people to go to where they can find all of the artsy/creative jobs in Colorado.  It is a big task and one that may never happen but I know that looking for these jobs can be SO frustrating and it would be awesome if they could all be compiled in one place.  Maybe some day…

But then I realized I have one thing in front of me that I still have not put enough effort into yet… The Joints!  So I know I have said this before but I am going to try to get back on track with them and my first priority is sto stay on top of posting content.  My idea is to post a picture a day to their Twitter (www.twitter.com/thejointsmusic.com) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/thejointsmusic) pages as well as on this blog.  It will keep me on my toes and be more aware of their social media and staying on top of it, as well as staying on top of this blog.

SO the plan is to post a pic a day and then once a week I will write a blog post.  For now I am not putting any constraints on the pictures, just something from that day that was picture worthy – it doesn’t have to be important or awesome, I don’t want to put limits on what I can take pics of.  It also will be cool for me because I have NO pictures of the last three years and I mean, maybe combined I have 25 from the last 3 years.  So it will keep me more on top of pictures and I can look back at what was going on in my life over the last year.  I hope you guys enjoy the pics and please feel free to share any of your own:)

Also, I don’t promise to put captions on all of them either…. (no limitations).  But since this is my first ‘Pic a Day’ post I will do a brief caption.  I am sitting at The Laughing Goat in Boulder listening to Ink Freethinker tonight, so this is a view of them from where I am sitting.  Life in Boulder is way different than I thought it would be but I am actually really loving it and The Laughing Goat has become a very happy spot for  me and we all know I love music so I figure this is a very appropriate first picture.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and I will be seeing you around!

  1. This is an excellent post. I liked this post very much. All things are described in very excellent way. In my eyes you should keep on such kind of postings for us. In future I would like to come here again for some new and more information.
